Insted of NE5534 you can use AD797.

You can use 081 instead 5534 in VLF metal detectors. I tryed a 071 as low noise variant of 081. It operates well untill 20kHz.
I don't know if it will operate well in PI, but you can test only if there are protection diodes for its input in the circuit diagram.
