Unless it is a VERY BIG CHUNK OF GOLD, It is NOT POSSIBLE!

And have you ever tried to DIG that Deep?

There is no detector that can detect only gold, despite what the LRL boys claim.
If you want a detector that is more sensitive to gold, but is relatively easy to build, then try the TGSL. You can find it in the Projects section. However, as Chemelec said, it will need to be a very large chunk of gold indeed to be detected at 2 to 3 meters. You are really looking for something that doesn't exist.

TGSL stands for Tesoro Golden Saber Lite (or Sabre Light, depending on where you live).
The Golden in the name refers to its increased sensitivity to gold, due to the relatively high TX frequency.
