MikeBG is trying to tell (very nicely) to not waste your time on this useless device.
It is nothing more than a dowsing contraption.
You can easily make one for yourself by purchasing a small ABS enclosure, a telescopic antenna, and a swivel handle. Bolt them together ... and voila! You have exactly the same useless dowsing gadget.

By the way, if you want to discuss LRLs, please go to the remote sensing forum.

Oh yes ... and before you say that it contains some batteries, a PCB and an LCD display ... these are only there to fool the technically challenged.
