Hiya all, newbie here,.... I was looking for an " introduce yourself " section,.. but can't find one,... {but, I aint overbright,... might have missed it.....
} Anyway, name is Fred, just starting to get interested in MD,.. I have dabbled with electronics for a while,... (I now know which end to pick a soldering iron up by!!)
I am also a 'radio ham', [G4ZWI], and have been fiddling with the 16f series of PIC chips,... I idly wondered if anyone had applied these to metal detecting,.. and here I ended up!!!!
I built a basic BFO type detector a long, LONG time ago, using a cheap am radio, and an OC45,... (Yep, that dates me, eh???? ) and looking round, think I will start off playing with a PI jobby, I like the look of the Surfmaster types, with the Hammerhead, and Chance kit a close second......... So, just saying hello, anyone in the Mansfield, Notts area passing, and wants a coffee, PM away,... and if the experienced guys can put any circuits/data/info my way, please go ahead,.....
