Ok that's what I thought, I personally like that audio type better myself and really have a hard time with piezo type buzzing.. if you can get that info I'd be interested as well.. Thanks for the reply..

Please reference, which is the temperature of the MOSFET, and which the temperature of the "damping resistor" during normal operation of the unit SurfPiPro.
I see that on the original scheme no potentiometer for Discrimination (pulse delay), and there was on the SurfPi unit. By searching the internet, I found on the contradictory information, and I stopped to believe anyone about it.
Some say that discrimination does not exist on the "PI" device, others say that there is - I'm interested in the official attitude of the constructor, and the result of their investigation: whether there is discrimination, and if so, why is fixed at SurfPiPro model?

and yes there is economy on pots. because those are not simple pots, those are waterproof pots.

Yes those are photos... I was hoping we would get to see photos that were IN FOCUS so that somebody could possibly identify the different components. I can't tell one resistor color from another.
Sorry, but those pics are mostly useless.
edit: Meanwhile, try and make sure that none of the solder on the back of the board is bridging any two adjacent traces. Make sure traces are soldered on top AND bottom.
By the way, when soldering, more solder is not usually better than less solder, it goes the other way around. You should make your solder connections look nice and neat. Do NOT use excess solder on the joints. Use only enough solder to make a nice neat joint. Then make sure the PCB is cleaned well (spotless is good) with alcohol or something else made for removing flux.
Solder flux should not be allowed to cake up but should instead be cleaned pretty much as you go along... hour by hour, not day by day.
