  • how many volts that i have to measure on coil signal (scope)? or MOSFET pin how must be signal and voltage?

    thanks

    • Surf pi was mi first detector that i built and i had to read couple of times all thread. i worked on it many days to make it work so don't quit on it.
I saw again your video, first of all keep the coil away from metals or electronics. you can put it on a carton box in the middle of the room or just hang it from the ceiling.
You can see first this videos, to understand how it works.

output of n35534 pin6 is like in this picture? do you have a change in the curve when approach metal to the coil? (where the circle is)

Delay it can be measured like this:
Keep one channel to n35534 pin6 an with the other channel check IC4093 at pin 10, pin 3, pin 11, pin 4. turn delay pot to see if delay is working.

Yes i have change on curve pin6 but in coil or near to 1cm for 1 euro... it gives perfect response to neodium magnet app. half meter away....

Don't know if I'm looking at correct schematic.(Reply 879). Looks like pin 10 is the problem, what does the scope picture collector Q1,R5 junction look like?

          • From what i see 0v is not set. Look at the picture. And i remember o had same problem. Delay not working, at pin 10 incorect signal. I had to remove , if you have this schematic , r27 and d7. Don't know the reason, maybe ne555 - it needs tlc555. Other schematics of surf pi does not have that link from 7660 to output of 555.just remove those 2 components and make 0v offset. And try again.

this is my circuit and there is no R27 - D7 ?

it was working good first day.. (1euro=18-20cm)
than i burn or cut somewhere that i dont know...

when its working good i made some marks on all POTs (because my purpose was use constant resistors) and 0v offset is look like really down for me now but i will try and look on scope all curves.

              thanks

i know that was working, but was not working corect! I had same issues like you before adjusting it the right way. Put also the shematic pls.

                • İ guess its better to make New pcb. Can you share single Side working pcb? İ want to make it tonight by iron transfer.

anyone has idea what there is no distance?

                    thanks
put back the pot 10k pot! After you will see. if working you can replace with resistor. 1k resistor might be to low. Hence the poor signal at pin 10 in your picture.

I don't have pcb, o made mine on a test board. Mi advice is to fix this one.

                    • I have changed 1k pot to 10k it makes noise on coil but didn't change distance of money detection

red curve is first opamp out (NE5534-pin6) and yellow curve is 2n3906 collector
it makes beep for money only touch the coil i hear so weak sound at 10cm for 1 euro but really weak that never people can hear.

                            thanks

In your reply #978 you show no change on pin10 of the 4093. Your video shows a pulse on the collector, can't see the amplitude. When the collector goes low pin10 of the 4093 should go high for about half the time the coil is on looking at your video. Some possible reasons, 4093 bad, collector pulse amplitude to low, capacitor or resistance pin8 not correct. Scope signal on pin8 should go low near -5v rail when collector pulse goes low and decay back to +5v rail. Pin 10 should be high when pin8 is less than 1/2 4093 supply volts.

                              • You rather make a new one with new board and parts. Be carefull not to got wrong value on resistor and cap.. this board also give me lot of trouble at first but the other board the surf pi 1.2 longboard give me no headache at all.. made a couple of it for my friends and all works after assemble and finished by fine tuning... Building new one with more careful will save time than a hilarious trouble shooting.
