Did you modify something on baracuda? i only get 30cm on a gold ring. (air test) i use speaker/headphones, i tried also with piezo but less depth.

          • Hello everyone, who can draw its delay map? Is it the same as the delta pulse?

I have silverdog surf pi 1.2 PCB, R3 is 1k5 not 3k3. So which one is correct resistor for your mod, 1k5 or 3k3? See picture.

                • Also i wondering why surf pi & surf pi pro has 7660 with external clock from 555? Does it reduce power supply interference or what? Silverdog's surf pi 1.2 has only 7660 internal oscillator.

                  • then you must learn the electronics more deeply if ask primitive questions.
nobody here is not teacher. yes, interference, yes reduce. is that ok?

Surf 1.2 use only 555 oscilator. As for the resistor you need to see wich one it give you a working delay.

                      • only use piezo headphones...as i made a mistake a few months ago and used very low impedence headphones and now two of my surf pi's are faulty and unusable...so im left with only one working detector...i have some projects to do during the winter so ive got so much now to contend with

                        • find up Gary Chemelec's post with suggestion to use a transformer and you can use surf with low impedance headphones.
or, contact him directly on email.

Why so serious? I'm asking, because i want to know is that synchronized clock signal important to circuit (performance / reliability) and why silverdog's version doesn't have it. If this is too much for asking, maybe i need to stop posting at all for this forum.

                            • why you are not able to check experimentally both versions and give us recomendations to use one or another way?

                              • hi kt315...thats a very good idea but in the mean while i have to find out what damage the low impedence headphones have done to the detectors...one detector works but is unstable and some loss of depth...i just havent got around to fixing it and also i have my gs 5 projects to do and get up and running so lots to do over the next few months.
