      • Greetings friends, my name is Eduardo. I'm from UruguayI have already created a sm pro pi kit purchased by eBay. I wanted to ask them what other kit they recommend to me to be better at that.Thank you very much, sorry for my bad language

Saludos.

        • Greetings Eduardo. You should first optimise your SMpro coil & damping. I use Minelab Commander 10x5 and 11"Coiltek on mine( DD coils). Do you have an oscilloscope? If not researching coils for your specific type of detecting and experimenting with the (temporary) adjustable damping arrangement will provide improvement. There are many mods here that may be worth trying as well.
The list of possible future projects is almost endless, but it depends what you are wanting to detect. VLF, LF and IB coils will be tricky to get right, and you may be better off to buy an appropriate coil for these types.
Ebay has many from time to time. Our European friends are prolific and avid, most are completed boards for relics and big, deep stuff. There is Silverdog and Newhobby on the net and the wonderful projects at Geotech1.com.
Currently on my to-do list is the Hammerhead RevD(Geotech1), Minipulse and IGSL Musketeer(Silverdog), and Newhobby 2 board Magnum. I am interested in gold mainly with these, and circuits able to handle our highly mineralised ground here in Australia.
The Baracuda may also be a well worthwhile project. (Silverdog & here).

          • Saludos. Gracias por su respuesta. No tengo un osciloscopio.
Intentaré mejorar la bobina. Buscaré el precio de barracuda.
El problema en mi país es no poder comprar más de 200 dólares por correo

Greetings. Thanks for your reply. I do not have an oscilloscope.
I will try to improve the coil. I'll look for the barracuda price.
The problem in my country is not being able to buy more than 200 dollars by mail

              • Finally up and running, however my surf PI need adjustments as i only get faint signal on 203mm MTB brake disc :-)))))))))))). Dealing with dumping at the moment. Suspicious about the coil as it is UTP basket 18cm of AWG24 UTP6 cable. The piezo i have in hand is also crap - too quiet.

Kt315, did you actually build and test the 18cm double field coil ?

                    • 8-10 год;-). Кремниевъй, in the same regards have you done the UTP cable basket coil as the instructions look suspicious. The way they show the direction of winding is not the same as where the soldering is done(if that make any sence, phase change for example). Will take some cable to build the Tesla coil and check with it but i'm still thinking of what i may done wrong. The offset is 0,37 but that should be normal. When i was populating and checking stage by stage i've notice after plugging the timer +5 -5 volts get a bit assimetrical and i'm not sure thats normal. +5 measeure 5.1 when -5 measure 4.91. What do you guys think about?

Hi KT315 I think I've seen that picture before, interesting idea about making the 18cm coil, I've experimented a bit with larger 30cm df coils, but had not considered trying a small 18 cm coil , was your coil a simple bundle wind ?

                            Comment

                            • first who did double field was NOT whites. it was idea of Alexandr Serbin. then Schedrin told about this coil on his site.
yes it is simple bundle wind, it still was not era of basket coil that would be later you have to grasp
we were in zero point. now you have all kind of basket coil detaily texted.

                              • Double field coil is very good. But calculation for damping resistors are critical. The formulas can be found in White's dual field patent. The inner coil must have it's own damping resistor.
