  • Looking at your pic of pcb, your NE5534 look EXACTLY like my fake ones.

    • Yes, that should be the first one to check. Rowing in my bunch of parts i figure out that i have a single JRC 5534 and VOILA - no need to go Dubai tomorrow.
Now i manage to adjust the offset(exactly 0) and increase twice the dept plus the MD detects various metals, not only ferous. The delay pot is also working. The only drawback is that now with the proper amplification and the Surf PI Pro modifications done the PSU shows off(EMI):-))). So need to continue adjustments with the proper battery. Thanks everyone for the help. Photos of the counterfeit in comparision with the real or semi real coming soon.

Unfortunatelly it was not an online shop, otherwise i will definitelly do.
Here are the pics - the fake ic's have Texas instruments logo on them. Note that the JRC also looks fake, but at least plugged in the circuit works as intended.

              • Good evening dear colleagues, I recently finished putting together my xx surf but I put it to work and I do not see it doing anything, it does not sound, it does not do anything, it just heats up a bit the icl7660. Use a piezoelectric buzzer as a loudspeaker and only a slight almost imperceptible buzz is heard, then change it to a headset and the same thing happens. I would like some guidance from the people who have already done the project and what worked for them correctly, about what I should change or what components to change to achieve success with my project. Use this scheme and this pcb design and after the plate was mounted mounted some components little by little I went ahead and read that it presented some problems that some colleagues could solve. In advance I take any help and recommendation that you could give me so I can achieve success with this project.
I attach the scheme you use to guide me

                  • It will be more usable to attach copy of your completed board both soldering and components side. This way we may see mistakes. However at first check after 78l05 for +5v and the +5-5 volts after 7660. This way you will know you have the power in tact. It is much more foolproof to populate the board stage by stage.

Sweet mother Mary, what is happening in the world today. Even my local shop has fake chips. Because of their greed, they have fallen into trap of buying cheap online to resell in shop for big money.

                      • What is interesting is that the fake ones will work in most audio circuits with poor quality not distinguishable from excellent condition. It's only when it has to perform at limits of its specs, that fake will be revealed.

                        • Are they just under specification chips or re labelled fake chips .

                          • They are same single opamp Tl061/71 or worse case 741 relabel to 5534. Haha!
Same pinouts so will work in typical opamp circuit. But in special application where hi speed and faster recovery/ slew rate she will be like diarrhea.
So you put into some audio preamp device for music and she works, technician closes unit and bills customer. He notices that the audio quality is not quite the same dynamically as before, but what the hell, she is working.

                              • I just buy a 5532 for my minipulse plus project from local shop, guess what? It is fake IC.
I am not going to tell them that they are selling fake chips, they ought to know better, having been in the business of components for over 40 years.
I will just buy chips elsewhere.
