  • XP WS3 wireless headphone adapter repair

    Last weekend I wanted to go on a search party with my XP GoldMaxxPower. The WS3 headphone needed recharging but I dropped the adapter and it was broken. Due to the g-shock the transformer connections had broken off.
    On the adapter case there was a label - Made in China 5V - 300 mA.
    I reverse engineered the simple pcb and attached the headphones to the USB connector of my laptop with a diode in series ( 5V - > 4.4V). All worked well, headphones charged and the search was on.

    I realize this detector is most popular in Europe - I just wanted to add this to schematics to make it more complete. Nothing new here.

    Unfortunately, here in the US, our mains is around 120V, 60hz AC....
