  • Hi Jap
I tried to adjust TR1 many times to do the calibration like this picture

but the signal is always horizontal (sometimes is like a wide range which includes points) like this picture

And I've been I doubt in the vicinity of 2n7000
    I have the following measurements

        • Hi all! I have big problems about the registration on the turkish forum. I don't receive the "activation link" email. I've already tried with 2 different nicks with 2 different email, no joy.

Anyone else had this issue? Is a temporary thing or so? Any clue?

          Thank you guys...

          • I have not been able to get my detector to work, so I have taken it to an electronics shop
and am having them check each part to make sure all are working. I understand that sometimes
you get parts that are bad.
But, I was informed that I should have the PCB in a shielded container to keep it from picking up
outside signals. Does anyone have a thought on this? I was thinking that the coil needs to be shielded, not the box. Correct?!?!
I have a plastic box with a snap lid that would make it waterproof.

            Thanks for all the input.
            Kerry

            • Hi eaglewings35
You can work shielded(insulation) as you want by sheet paper of copper in the form of a paper cut dimensions same dimensions of pcb and put down at the base of the Box and be completely pcb above and welded wire and arrive to -E battery.

              • Thanks Jap for the help.
If I understand correctly, if I place a sheet of copper on the "Bottom" of the PCB and solder it to the
negative battery, this will make it "Shielded"? Is this correct?

Do I need to put copper paper any where else?

Thanks again. Your help is much appreciated.

                • Also, Is there a process to change out search coils, to make the detector recognize
it? How do you tune the DP3 to the coil?

                  Thank you again,
                  Kerry

                  • Hi eaglewings35
Yes, it's enough - Notable sheet is installed in Box by any way.
                    -yes a process see link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXCt8QqHeFo

                    • A simple question: It seem almost complicated in my country to found a LF357. Everybody proposed me a LF356. I had a look to the datasheet, and seem that it works with lower voltages, with similar performance. Can I change them without loss in performance or
                      without damage to the hardware?

                        LF357=LF356.

                        • Hey J., I took my DP3 to the shop and they said it was just some loose connections, nothing bad.

If I change to a dual coil, how do I make it see and recognize the coil?

                          Thanks

What is the problem ?- and your observations of the problem - put photo so that I can help.
                              -for dual coil no use.
