Hi Bernte One
Yesterday i finish to assemble vandal and i found that is a little unstable and deep is not to good. But then i experiment just by solder a small wire to the case of the cristal and the other end to one leg of the capacitos close to the cristal and the detector gots very stable and distance incresed for me about 30% more. My wedding gold ring was detected at 28 centimeters with a 21 centimeters coil.
Now i m trying to detect a problem with the coaxial cable that runs from the detector to the coil. This cable is RG 58, 80 centimeters long, but it looks that it runs into problems when you move it, cause the detector stops to detect and sometimes a stady sound comes from it. Nothing of this happends if you don“t move the cable, so the cable can be defective or is not the correct one for this detector.
I normaly use with very good results on detectors like Delta Pulse, speaker cable.
So can you tell me what cable you use on your vandal detector?
I also place inside the box 6 AA batteries, 2000 mA to have 9 volts.
I also tested the unit with 12 volts and seems to run fine too, but i need to do more experiments.
In advance many thanks
Nelson
