I think we need now to decide what kind of sonar we want.
Its nice to look into piezo, transducers, data aquisition cards etc, but as far as I know we have not yet decided the minimal requirements for the sonar itself.
The sonar I would like :
1) Range 50 meters each side
2) Operational to max 50 meters deep
3) Minimal resolution 1 square foot (I adjusted this requirement a bit since the biginning)
4) Pricerange up to ยง3000
5) Indication of echo strength (max 15 steps)
6) Operational time between battery charges 6 hrs
7) No, or minimal manual adjustments during search
Lets discuss the requirements first then decide what we are going to build.
When we do not do this we will end up readjusting the design prerequisites the whole time.
That will lead to nothing.
