Re: It's been a while...
Charles,
Sounds very nice.
I could use the Altimeter in the Magnetometer (when the high voltage does not influence the Speake sensors)
What compiler are you using for the PIC ?
I using PICBASIC PRO
I really like it, makes programming very easy because I have always programmed in QBASIC and just learned Visual Basic.
I really like these PIC thingies... use them for everything.
If you are planning to build a Magnetometer using the Speake sensors wait with that.
I can give you my PCB layout and PIC hex file and Visiual basic program.
I wrote the visual basic program for me alone so I did not put any "monkey proof" routines in it.
But I do not expect big problems...
Sounds you are just doing exactly the same projects as I do.
The ROV thing is also beginning to take shape.
I want it to 'have a look' at the mag hits.
Cannot throw my poor girlfriend overboard every time I get a signal on the Mag. ;-))
So it only has 1 camera, 2x 20 Watt lights and 7 simple thrusters and 4x 12V/7Ah batteries.
With all this work I get a lot of experience with PIC programming and Visual Basic.
Because of this I have readjusted my designs for the SSS several times.
The SSS is the goal of this all.
One day I will be the proud owner of a Sidescan Sonar !!! (hehe)
Oops... my manager just walked in...
Best regards, Jan
