  • Wesmar & Furuno Paper

Recently I've had some people ask me if I knew of a source for electrostatic (dry) paper for the older Wesmar 500SS. Wesmar doesn't carry it any more. The only thing I've found is 200mm wide paper for the Furuno paper graphs from Trionics at $35 per 20 meter roll. Anybody have any other source for either Wesmar (8" wide) or Furuno paper?

    Msg to Mr.Dan

    Hi Mr. Dan
I try to use a large paper echo sounder Skipper 110 50/200 KHz and an assembled ducer without sucess. I would like to follow your ideia trying to assemble a transducer w/ four 200 KHz piezos like you explain in your page.
Do you have more SSS pictures and how is your experience w/ your paper homegrown SSS.
Would be interesting to share experiences.

    Greatings.

          Re: Msg to Mr.Dan

          Hi Mr.Meshel,
Last year I bought some 200 KHz piezos and tryed to assemble an 1 meter by 0.5 inch. I used fiberglass and rubber cork to insulate both sides and bottom of ducer. Used a paper echo sounder Skipper 810 (50/200 KHz) w/ this ducer and it was sensitive just to 10 meters way and without discrimination.
Now I would like to assemble a transducer using four common comercial piezos like Mr. Dan explain on is site.
Until that would be helpfull to see more information and advices from people who have built the same and see more pictures from that kind of ducers to avoid lose time and waste money again.
I have built before a dif.fuxgate mag. and close video circuit for underwater w/ sucess, and would try a simple SSS.
          Best regards,

          Francisco Xavier
