Anyone have any ideas how much the cheapest available sonar array is?

I got a quote of $5,621 each.

A little more than I can afford.

You may want to make your own tranducters. The below link provides instructions on how to make them.

Additional, there is what is call piezo film. These are flat sheet of tranducers arrays that can be glued to just about any surface. See this link for information.

Guys,
Has anyone had success using transducers made by the method shown in 'bender2.pdf'? If anyone has tried them out, what frequency did you operate it at, how much power, an array or single piezo?
