Has anyone been able to convert the older 530 Klein recorder from wet paper to dry or find another interface to a computer or laptop or conventional printer? My unit does an excellent job, but I would like to see it reproduced on a computer screen and save the information to a hard drive.

Re: convert klein wet recorder or other interface for printing
Ed,
The problem with doing this is that most of the weight and size of the 530 is to accomodate the recorder section of this unit. For the sonar portion, all you need from the 530 is some of the sonar related circuit boards, control panel, and the DC /DC power supply. That represents perhaps 15% of the weight. Some people have utilized "off the shelf" circuit boards to handle the processing of the right and left channel sonar signals and store them on the hard disc. Doing this conversion would be very very time consuming and requires both hardware and computer programming knowledge. Regards, Jim
