What to use on land?

I am aware that this may not be the best place to ask this but it is the closest match on all of my searches. I am looking for a device that will assist me in locating pockets or objects under the earth, maybe no more than 7 feet below. Similar to what an archaeologist might use to find a tomb or artifacts. Would a side scan device help me in this area or am I looking in the wrong direction completely?

What you are looking for is called Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). There are several manufacturers of these devices. Search on Google for GPR details and manufacturers, both in the USA and other countries in the world.
