    Sidescan Sonar is a twin beam (or single beam) ultrasonic device that gives you "pictures" of the seabed to the side of a towed "fish".

    Magnetometers are very sensitive devices that look for changes in the earth's magnetic field caused by ferrous objects (usually), such as cannons etc.
