I am building a Tethered Remote Piloted Sub or TRPS2 as we are calling it.
I want to make a locator for it. what I need is a transducer that does not send the beam in a cone. kind of like a regular light bulb does in relation to a spot light. I found one but they want $700 or more for it. it is like a 600 watt unit. I just need to send or receive a PING about 1000 feet through the water. It would also save me time if some one had the electronics for it to send and receive a PING.
The project is on a tight budget so the lower cost the better. Plans to make it my self would be Ideal.( I am handicapped and wheel chair bound so I have alot of time on my hands to make things)
Books about how to make them or other input will be appreciated.
