Sonar

Hey guys,
I just got Sonar on my Windows computer. It seems a little hard to use. Can someone give me a heads up on what I'm meant to do to be able to hook up my guitar or keyboard and record?
Or is there something that i can do to not have to plug in my instruments? I heard a little baout the 'Piano Roll' but as I said i just got it and I don't really understand it.

Well the sonar mentioned in this forum is the one used for scanning the seabed.

I think what you have in your mind is the sonar software - "Cakewalk Sonar Producer". Not even a scanner for sound on your computer.
