on occasion, but 7 times out of 10 they are licensed goods, manufacturers get say a tv made in china to keep costs down, they put their logo on it.
the company in china is given a license to make the tv for chinese markets, this tv is basically the same as the western brand, except they use cheaper plastic, lower quality cabling etc the chinese company put their logo on it.
then a 3rd party company buys 3000 of the chinese model and puts the western companies logo on them, they then sell through chinese wholesalers, wholesalers here buy them thinking they are cheap and sell them for nearly the price of the real thing, people here complain phone trading standards etc.
a lot of what people think are fakes are rebadged licensed products, not really fakes at all as the working parts are the same.
the wholesalers have now worked out that unbranded goods get through customs every time, its actually britts sticking fake lables on stuff.
there was a case recently with dr dre headphones, the headphones were not fakes they were identical to dr dre ones but had no lables on them a gang ran a sweat shop here sticking fake lables on them and putting them in fake boxes, but the headphones were real i have a pair of black ones exellent phones mine have no lables at all.
