The book is not available on eBay.
I might put some copies on there in the near future, with a Buy It Now price.

If you're interested, the cost to Lithuania is the same as for Europe.

At the moment the books are flying off the shelves. My limited UK stock will soon be exhausted, so don't delay in ordering. It will be first-come first-served. After that I will need to wait for another shipment to arrive.

        George,

Congratulations on The Book, to both of you!

I would like to buy a copy of It. How much is postage to Australia, ordinary mail? I think that it is cheaper for mail from the UK than from the US.

        Thanks,
        Gorilla III.

Is this book understandable to the less well versed in electrical engineering? Is it aimed primarily at those who build detectors and coils?

              All,

I have several requests for postage to Oz, Brazil, Canada, etc but cannot get this info until Monday when the Post Office opens. I looked online and the best rates are prohibitive, so I'm hoping a personal visit will reveal a better rate. If not, I will look at alternatives. Unfortunately, I was not proactive in getting this stuff lined up ahead of time.

Also, I've looked into Amazon but their fees are steep. I may switch to this once the initial surge dies off.

John, the book is about 1/2 and 1/2. About half is easily followed by any layman detector user, about half is for sparky's.

              - Carl

That will make it a special edition. Can I get mine autographed please ? (by Carl because it is coming from Sweet Home)

The best way to answer this question is to post a short extract from the Introduction:

                              -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So why would anyone want a book on how metal detectors work? With very
capable detectors available at low prices, relatively few people are going to be moti-
vated to build their own. But there are those who like to experiment, and this book
will provide an excellent starting point in detector technology. For those who are
inclined to build circuits, the projects offered in this book range from a simple and
seemingly useless detector, up to some quite powerful designs that rival the perfor-
mance of many commercial models. Some of the projects are:

                              Multi-purpose BFO detector
                              Off-resonance pinpointing probe
                              Basic TR detector
                              VLF motion discriminator
                              Saltwater pulse-induction detector

In addition, some engineering hints are included that might allow a more experi-
enced hobbyist to wring out a little more performance from a given design. In the end
you can wind up with several different detectors, each optimized for a specific task,
all for about the same money as a mid-level general-purpose commercial unit.
For those who are not inclined to build circuits, there is something that is of value
to any detectorist: knowledge of how a detector works. The most successful detector-
ists are those who have a good understanding of what all those knobs are doing; they
know how to get the most out of their machine. How does discrimination work?
What, exactly, is happening when you ground balance a detector? What are the
advantages and disadvantages of different coils? Even if you never build a detector
circuit, this book will help answer those questions, and more. But this book does not
cover detecting techniques or the need to do proper research; many other books are
available that attempt to do that.
                              -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
