  • Is there a tool that detects magnetic fields?

    Hello,

I was wondering if there was some kind of device that detects magnetic fields and measures them.

For example, i pulse a coil with a certain amount of electricity, this device would measure the strength and longevity of the magnetic field.

Thought it could be useful for testing coils.

    Thanks

The simplest and cheapest is using a hall sensor. They can be bought using integrated electronics. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hall_effect_sensor

If you want to measure EMF then I recommend EMF-822A & K-II
they are great meters, have both.
