    Metal detector books?

    Hi,

    Was wondering if the book sold here by the admins is the only book of its nature? Are there any other books that deal with the science of metal detectors?

    Also, if i order the book now, how long will it take to get to australia during this christmas period? Is there faster postage available?

    There are different books on metal detecting theme, but from technical and MD DIY point of view "ITMD" book is the one most complete and simply the best available.

    Otherwise you can do some search: couple months ago we are discussed here Bill Lahr (reprinted) book "Understanding and using your metal detector" good technical oriented reading too.

      As it says on the back cover:
      "The first in-depth book on metal detector technology since 1927 ..."

      Unfortunately you will be unable to receive the book in time for Christmas.
      Carl has been handling the shipping for Australia ($34.95 +$17 shipping). I've just checked the cost from the UK, and it will be £32 including shipping. This is as near as dammit the same price, so you can take your pick where you want to order from.

      If you're quick, I can post it today!

            it took about a week for my book sent from Carl to get to melbourne in normal times,
            but its xmas and there will be a back log now.

              All good, it will give me more time to learn basic electronics :P

              The book is probably way over my head for at least another 6 months.

              Will practice my soldering and analog circuits and arduino before it gets here :P
