  • DBIAS ?

In my commercially made detector there is an internal pre-set multi-turn pot labelled "DBIAS".
Does anyone on here know what DBIAS means , or is it more likely to be circuit specific ?

    Re: DBIAS ?

probably "discrimination bias", an offset zero adjustment for the discrimination channel comparator.

      Re: DBIAS ?

I had a suspicion that it had something to do with discrimination , I made a quick circuit diagram last night (looks like an explosion in a spaghetti factory) and upon inspection it is connected to the disc. control via a capacitor and a 1M resistor.Thanks.
I'll try to clean up the circuit diagram and (hopefully) come up with something that makes sense. Don't know yet if it's possible but I'm hoping to disable the "motion" constant re-tuning to create a pinpoint function , trying to make my existing detector more user-friendly and "better" before starting to mess with Silver Sabre circuitry.
May post this circuit when I've tidied it up (I think it's UK only) but concerned about copyright etc.
