True, this one will not go deep in any terrain.

My personal choice of a detector that will discriminate both iron and coloured metals is IGSL. It's front end could be better, but even the way it is it provides solid 25cm distance in air and almost as much in soil, while giving independent indication of iron and coloured metals.

In case you go for salty beaches, take some simple PI, but forget about discrimination.

        Thanks davor
Friend I want to like to searching for nobel metal such as gold,silver,platinum..
        Hence I make metal detector..
But I do not have perfect knowledge because of I just complete my education at diploma in electrical engg..
So but I have good skill of PCB making, component mounting, etc
Hence I make metal detector but problem is that I West lot of time and money but I don't get better design so if u know anyone Md than help me...
        Thanks very much...

In that case you may be better off with IDX without VDI for better battery life, or with VDI for visual confirmation. It discriminates coloured metals, but also has an all-metal seeking mode. It also provides very good depth. There is a lot of information on this forum about these, as well as recipes for making coils.

I wonder what is your native language. Aapalii muLa bhaaShaa marAThii aahee? Mii hindii aaNi sanskRita shikalee.

I learn many things, and not all of them are in engineering

for IDX you can join the topic at http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showthread.php?18051 and you'll find everything there
You can even obtain a kit at Silverdog's http://www.silverdog.co.uk/shop/inde...product_id=124
Many people are happy with it.

I tend to avoid Facebook as much as possible, but thanks (and no thanks) for your offer.

Yes I will repeat that the detector toy for children and can not be used on the ground... and if you do not believe me, you go ahead with modifications... starts to work the most important modification "ground balance"...

                        Davor you said

Just to be clear is the pin point function the all metal mode
and when it in all metal mode that the IDX would then become a TR detector.

Because you want the detector with discrimination, I would recommend you TGSL- Eduardo version, It has a lot of detail... http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...t=tgsl+eduardo

Mahavir, I just watched a short film about a Neral-Matheran toy train, which is in your back yard. I'd say you have a terrain as difficult as it gets, originating from the large erupted caldera, saturated with iron, hot rocks everywhere. You really need a device with good ground balance.
In case you are building a device that has ground balance designed as a trimmer potentiometer, be sure to put it to a front plate for fine tuning.
