Some feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I have built 6 detectors so far, all with 20cm coils and they all work fine...

I have etched two more boards for v2,so far.
    I am drilling them.
Still waiting for some components to arrive.
I have received the Picks, and will load the new hex soon.
    Regards

Hope you get well soon, -- same thing here in Belgium - flue, colds, snow, etc...one of the worst winters since the announcements of the global warming.....
get well soon ! All the best,
        - Bernard

Still waiting components, they must be on a slow boat from China!
Also I noticed there is no pinpoint as per v1?
Can this be added as seen in v1 schematic?
          Regards
          John

I've checked for you ... and they're in the 9th container from the left. 2nd up, and 5th along.

The pinpoint push button was omitted - all it did was reduce the sensitivity to almost minimum.
I never experienced this as useful in the field.

              Best regards,
              - Bernard

The pinpoint function is still there, but is not brought out to a connector. It can be connected to TP7 on the board, if you really want to try this out.
I also experienced when ordering samples from Microchip, that it took about a month before they arrived.

                  It may as well be!
F117, the micros have arrived and I have loaded the hex.
Just some components are still AWAL.
Thanks for reply about pin point.
                  Regards

                    F117,
Bernard,I have noticed on your website a new v2 is posted with a 8mhz xtal.
The eagle board and schematic links dont work for me.
                    Is the software the same?
I hope I can modify the v2 boards Ive made to suit the xtal.
                    Regards

The V2 layout of the board has the possibility to stuff the crystal + 2 capacitors as oscillator.
These only need to be stuffed for V1 - with 20MHz oscillator and PIC16F616.
with the PIC16F1825, the crystal and capacitors don't need to be stuffed. It runs on its internal oscillator = 8 MHz, multiplied by 4 internally.
So, the board layout V2 can be used for both versions. The main redesign of the layout was to have the potmeter/switch on board.
I would like to do some tests to see if the PIC16F1825 runs more stable with an external 8MHz Xtal, multiplied by 4 internally, compared to the internal RC oscillator.

Bottom line: V2 works with the software you can download and without the Xtal.

                      Best regards,
                      - Bernard

                        Thanks Bernard.
Still cannot download eagle board3 or eagle schematic.
It sends me to a site Telnet "page not found"
                        Regards

                          You're right, John.
I will fix the links as soon as I get home tonight.
It is still morning here and I can't do it from work.
                          Best regards,
                          - Bernard

I have now received just about all components..so I can carry on and "get stuffing" my boards...LOL
