  • choosing PI project for gold prospecting

    Hi,
Failing to improve a CS4PI I would make a project. Can you advise me. The subject is to have a stable detector on highly mineralized soil like placer gold (like southwestern Australia).
The two projects that seem me the most interesting are "Hammerhead" and "Gary's Pulse Induction Metal Detector".
But what would be one that can correctly eliminate ground effects ?

At the moment I am building the "pickini",on this site.It appears to be tolerant to salt (beach etc)
so I will try this on a local mineralised gold field, here in south oz.
I think it will still pick up "hot rocks"..(iron ore deposits).
Being a PI , I think the unit will pick up any piece of ferrous/non ferrous specimens.
I will report later when I can test my build.
    Cheers
    John

      Hi John,
You're very lucky to live in such a beautiful country. I have very good memories of my stay in Australia Perth-Calgorlie Leonora. I found Australians very friendly. I dream to come back, Perhaps for my retirement ....
It will be very interesting to see the behavior of your PI on mineralised gold field, because my CS4PI is very tolerant on salt soil (beach).
Some people Told me to take VLF detector, goal I think it's not possible using one VLF on this soil.
      Regards,
      Thierry

Hi,Thierry, a VLF in Australia would not be a good choice on the goldfields, if you are a serious gold hunter.
I have a fisher goldbug 2, a high frequency VLF?... which is excellent ,(for where I go in in South Australia).
I am told that most professionals / wealthy people use $6000.00+ machines ???
Guess what, those machines are made right here in little old Adelaide,South Aussie!
        Cheers
        John
