  • Android controlled metal detector

    Hello,

Have searched the forum, but I didn't find exactly what I was thinking about, I was just wondering if somebody know if it is possible to make a wireless metal detector whit the help of a android powered phone, like the deus xp but instead the remote control a android phone. Also could it be possible to make a control interface for a standard deus wireless coil thru a android phone? . Thank you.

“World’s Best Metal Detector made in Germany” by Turks

There is a Google-Android controlled “World’s Best Metal Detector made in Germany” - GroundExper. It uses tablet PC. However “Der Beste Metall Detektor” GroundExper of DRS Electronics is not German technology. It is produced by Turks.

In 2012, I read in a Bulgarian forum that the expensive metal detector GroundExper is Turkish technology:
    http://metaldetecting.eu/index.php/t....html#msg29865
I could not believe that the company lies in its website, so I asked Bulgarian colleagues to prove their claim. They insisted that the design and the production of DRS Electronics are not made in Germany because the company has several employees only and there is no user manual (Gebrauchsanleitung, Bedienungsanleitung) for GroundExper in German language. The colleagues sent me five materials taken from the WEB, but without to show links. At least one of received materials is not correct, because Mr. Ilkay Ucar is not a Frau (woman) but a Herrn (men). Here are these 5 materials:

5 million people with Turkish origin are working and living in Germany, so it is often case to see business connections and relations between those two countries.
Germany presents huge and potential market, so it is understandable why foreign manufacturers usually tends to establish better connection with domestic customers there.
There are lot of similar examples like this one mentioned here in this topic. Nothing bad in that.
      ...
Idea about using android tablet as sort of interface for some metal detector is not new. Even i had similar idea in the past. I think is nice idea because android (or win8 lately) tablets
are just perfect for such task. Use of such "interface" will significantly reduce metal detector's "morphology" itself, should lower overall producing costs and inputs and should offer much better performances and much more versatile interface features.
XP Deus is something pretty similar to that concept, with exception that it's remote control is not tablet... and yet it could easily be replaced by one.
I think XP avoided direct use of tablet for remote controls because of few important reasons; one because of better protection of own intellectual properties and next because of already known and pretty "misty" and unclear relations about public use and share (making money with use) of such concept and technology as android technology is.
Other words; android is not secure enough, always is under control and good will of "big brother" and once you think you own it: be aware you don't!
      ...
Don't know much about this particular Turkish/German product, but it's case reminds me on Velox One's case. Having previous experiences i think there is only one manufacturer of such cases and enclosures in Turkey and everybody can order them and use them to pack own metal detector in those.
So i am sure we will see more different detectors packed in same one enclosure we see here.
This reminds me on famous "Fisher 12xx" plastic enclosure copy made in Bulgaria.
Dozen different md models were made and packed in that enclosure. Even myself... i used them widely to pack TGSL, Wave and Eldorado hand made md's in those.
      ...
Particularly this detector... it's PI. First reason for me not to pay more serious attention on it!
Second; i highly suspect in it's value when see that it "displays" shape and size of detected metal! A PI.... !?
      Oh man! Another one !?
      When this will end!?

The „advanced German“ technology is created and produced in ISTAMBUL
Here is a stupid instruction in user manuals of DSR Electronics:
