  • fisher 1266 X won't switch on ?

I have a Fisher 1266 X Pro which I last used some 2 years ago and it was working fine.

It has been in my garage since then.

Yesterday I dusted it down and bought new batteries for it but it does not seem to want to work.

There appears to be power to the switch but I have not checked any further until I can have a better idea of what to check.

I can only do basic trial and error checking so i would welcome any ideas on what to do next. does anyone have a wiring schematic for the 1266 X Prod ?

    thanks in advance

    Hi
You say there is power going to the switch... worth checking other side of switch for power out because the model before yours 1265x had weak on/off switches, have changed a few myself, in fact still got a couple in stock plus the battery holders.
    Nice machine

        Hi Paul
Its the two on the back, all you need to do is put your meter negative probe on the negative terminal of the battery and the positive to the switch.
When the detector is turned on you should have 12V on both terminals, if you only got it on the feed IE one terminal then the switch is faulty.
If you have no voltage on either of the terminals check the battery holder and the wires from it that feed the detector.

If it turns out to be the switch and you want to prove the rest of the detector is working correctly, just link the terminals together and it should work.
