  • White's coinmaster 2 G.E.B Supreme

Hi I'm new to the metal detecting world. My kids think it will be great family fun build metal detectors the only problem is they are 5 and 8. Anyway we bought a White's Coinmaster G.E.B. Supreme All Metal Detector Model # GEB-2, on craigslist for $20.00. It's doesn't work. It gets power from the batteries to the board but nothing works. I can seem to find any information or schematics for this particular model. I have found information for every other model it seems. Anyway if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Thanks.

Probably it is Coinmaster V Supreme not 2 as you wrote. It has epoxy potted part of circuit inside and this way not very easy to reparable.

Post some photos here, to get idea what you really have.

Something new for me. Not listed between Whites Coinmaster manuals.

According coil I think this is only version (later or earlier) of Coinmaster V Supreme, maybe one of hipmount versions.

Can you post photos of command sides of housing too?

Basically look like the same circuitry as Coimaster V Supreme. Main difference is that yours is comming without meter (except small indicator probably for battery check). You can try to tune it according this manual:

            http://media.whiteselectronics.com/m...n%20Manual.pdf

Are there inside epoxy potted pcb part of circuitry togheter with main PCB:

Compare your PCB with PCBs in this thread:

ID:	336136 Couple of pictures you can see where it has been repaired the picture makes it look worse thatn what it is. Also the you can see there a loose diode? It's connected to the earphone jack.

Yes, someone is trying with different "improvement", hope not too fatal. Transistors are probably Whites factory labeled as WE112, WE 113, WE114 etc.?

A lot of batteries needed make it very heavy machine, not really "user friendly" for kids.

If you mean throw it in the bin? no,repair it for yourself!.
Trust me for kids the ages you give, you need something smaller/lighter.
But someone would love it,if i had it i'd rebuild it just as it should be.
p.s. a modern battery pack would reduce weight and increase battery life. (well sometimes! ).
