    Re: Garret circuit

What is the purpose of pins 4,5,6,7 op-amp (LM?)393 , is it just that garrett have not used it and tied pins 6&7 together to keep device stable?

Is the machine an older (late 80's) model ?

Thanks for posting , I'm sure it will come in useful for many of us on this forum.

One last question , is the transformer for the receive coil in the loop or in the machine ?

      Re: Garret circuit

The ADS Master Hunter was first made around 1979 I think, and there was a series of them over the years, up to the ADS-7.

LM393 is a dual comparator, so pins 5/6/7 are the comp that is not used. 6&7 are tied just to keep it from flopping around.

Transformer most likely in the machine.

        Re: Garret circuit

I found first error in the circuit - the audio generator can't work. It's better to get it from another place or to check patent origin!
