  • Fisher 1280x worth trying to fix?

    This belongs to a club member, he said it no longer works. Powers up, constand threshold, no detection, external controls don't work except on/off switch.
    Figured "freshwater" damage. Opened the case up and it does show water damage.

    The most likely things to have been "shot" are the trimmer pots and panel pots. With a bit of luck it'll be a cheap fix, but with those trimmers out of business it'll need re-tuning and the appropriate tools for it. Connectors might also have gotten in bad shape.

      Once you have corrosion like that, it's time to cut your losses. I would use the case for a new project.

        Kind of what I was thinking especially after looking at the coil cable, the insulation is deteriorating. Think the owner thought it might be a basket case, so maybe
        I can get it for nothing and use the case.
