Best DIY Gold Detector Project?

Can anyone give me some advice on a good project for a gold metal detector? Either a kit I can purchase or a schematic?

I really want to build a high frequency, 20khz or so, VLF and a PI detector but so far have not found anything suitable.

Has anyone here had experience with the Crazy-Star 2 "Hybrid" from www.crazy-tech.net?
