  • My exclusive interview with Eng. Rumen Kanev (DETECH LTD)

I’m really proud to have the honour to hereby publish my exclusive interview with Eng. Rumen Kanev, CEO and Chief Engineer of DETECH LTD, the worldwide famous Bulgarian producer of some of the most powerful search coils and metal detectors on the market. After testing their latest VLF detector, named WINNER, that really impressed myself (see my review HERE) I’ve asked Eng. Kanev (RK in the text) to manage and interview and he kindly accepted. Before we go, I’d like to send my big thank you to Eng. Rumen Kanev for his kindness and to making himself available to my questions and also to his staff for their great work and for the nice pictures. I won’t let you wait anymore… Here’s the complete transcription…

So far i had 11 coils made by them, the Excellerators.
    Excellent coils indeed!

For me; most impressive was 11" elliptical coil for Minelab Explorer (SE at the time)!
Wow! That coil outperforms original Minelab coil for more than 30% in all the tests i did than.
Deepest finds i had so far were with that coil and SE.
I also tested 32cm and 36cm DD coils for Fishers 12xx series.
Fisher 1266 with 32cm Excellerator coil turned to real deep beast!
    I was delighted.
I would also like to point on very high quality made of those coils too.
Cables were robust and high quality.
    ...
Looking forward to see if they will make any size coil for Deus!?
Tough task would be, because Deus's "engine" is also part of the coil.
Unlike the majority; i would be very interested in smaller coil for Deus, something bellow 20cm diam.
    ...
    Big CHEERS for Detech!

Once I have small 6" Excellerator from Detech using on my Whites, which easily ouperform some others brand 8" CC coils for about 1/4 deeper (in soil).

But if you comment cheerleadish interview above, this pic suit better to it:

                I agree
The Dtech coils in use over here in England turn a average to good detector into a different machine all together, they handle are minerals allot better than most main stream manufactures coils.
Any serious detectorist when buying a Minelab or Whites machine change to Dtech coils within the first 12 months.
The only down side is the price, they are exspensive.

Bought a Detech ultimate 13" DD coil and I am sorry I purchased it. Poorly made and the performance..........it does not perform because it is a lemon. Wished I had bought a minelab coil.

Ask producer to send coil back and money return.

I do so with NEL coil "Hunter" for AT GOLD which perform right opposite than promised. I sent coil back and seller return my money.

DETECH LTD allegedly owns several patents for technology that produces. Is anyone read these patents, or at least can somebody specify the patent numbers?
