Hi There,
I called into one of my farms during the week and the farmers wife showed me the above metal detector she'd bought some years ago but failed to understand how to use it.
Consequently, it had been put into a farm outbuilding for storage. She and her husband are both very keen on local history and are also part of their local historical society.
Despite its age, the machine is virtually un-used.
The problem I have is, I'd like to help them understand the concepts of detecting but the battery compartment has me stumped. It takes 8x 1.5 AA cells in two strip packs but the
only connectors in the housing are two springs next to each other in the center of the battery compartment. There are solder points on the extreme left and right of said compartment with
the marking batt on them.
I cannot even begin to understand how this thing was wired by this configuration! There has to be parts missing surely?
Are there any images of the circuit board (or battery connectors) of this machine, where 9v connectors have been introduce instead of the original connectors.
I'm not a technical person, so if you can help, please try to keep it fairly simple.
Thank you in advance
Mike
