Yes, the Beachscan is one of mine. The IRFD113 is now hard to get anywhere and may even be obsolete. I have a stock of IRFD110 which is the 100V version and is a direct replacement. Ironically I am now in France but don't have any with me but will be back in UK on 20th and could post one over. PM me with address if you wish me to send one. Person with me in photo is Andy Flind who sadly died a few years back. He published detector circuits in the EPE magazine.
Eric.

Hi Dave,
That workshop picture was taken about 23 years ago just after a tidy up. Been through several workshops in different places since. A graph of the "tidyness function" would show huge peaks and troughs plotted on a week by week basis. Troughs occur when a circuit under test, attached oscilloscope and soldering iron disappear in the surrounding "noise" of tools, coffee cups, books, notes, tools, cables, wire, cuttings, and discarded components. Peaks occur shortly after my wife has popped her head through the door of my present home workshop.

agree with Carl. you may use more modern one, look this file. there is not direct replacement because rare DIP-4 type for novaday. while those DIP-4 MOS-FET's you can still find out into oldie PC's hard drives.Attached Files

Eric.It sounds very familiar.
You know Eric not to long ago when the TV side of my business was like a conveyor belt with repairs coming in day in day out everyday I had a massive workshop on some land I owned with ample parking for customers etc, It was real hands on fault finding to component level together with top brand agency's with good back up service.
My point is I now really miss those days the TV side has gone very much into a throw away market, availability of pacific spares are a shambles and when they can be obtained they are often over inflated prices which makes the repair non viable.
In the end I sold off the land with planning permission on it and now use a small workshop built next to the house.
The difference now is I am only in there a couple of days a week, most of my work is out on the field Installing CCTV security equipment, Satellite equipment and Aerials, Its the only way I could still make a reasonable living and carry on takeing in the odd repair which does include funny enough metal detectors but only the older analog formats, and surprisingly enough normally owned by the older gents of this world that are into the hobbies, so I get to hear some really fantastic stories along the way.
Thanks Eric for giving us so much valuable information , its all interesting stuff to read.
Regards

You may be just the person to help me with a Satellite TV problem. Look out for a PM from me.
Eric.
