Your gold nugget feedback...

Does any one of you guys had positive results with the DIY PI or IB projects finding smaller gold nuggets? It's not my main target in the wilds - I'm a meteorite hunter myself, but interested in how they might act for gold based on your own experience.

That's why I have a kind of obligation to keep hunting for meteorites only, I already got a meteo-fever, and don't need another one . The thing is I heard alot about the failure of homemade PI's, though didn't see a real test to fold out the case, or re-open it..

Have you tried asking this question of the Treasure Hunting Forum? They are more focused, I think, on the actual use of detectors in the field. Not that there aren't any prospectors here but in my case I have been building and improving my detector for about 3 years and just this summer have finally gotten some time to try it out. My results have been inconclusive at this point. The other thing is that you may be asking for information on techniques that others are unwilling to share. Like you, I am focused on how well a home brew PI can find small gold nuggets. To me small nuggets means 5 to 15 grain nuggets. If or when I get it figured out I'll let you know.
