Gold nuggets detector recomandations (diy/kit)

Hello, does anyone here have experience with a kit/diy detector that is able to detect small gold nuggets?
Can i get at least decent results with a delta/surf pi/cuda?

Done . Thank's! I think i will get two board from silverdog. Surf Pi & IDX PRO! Both designs have a good reputation, and they are complemeting each other nicely.
I would like to spend more time in designing the coils . I have a few ideas that might give some interesting results(line array of small coils; cylindrical coil; angled DD coil).
Will also focus on using DSP's with the two units. I am a passionate audiophile so i have some experience with digital sound processing.
