  • Treasuremaster PI 1000 burns resisters please Help me.

    Hello I have a White’s TM PI 1000 that was stored with batteries. I removed the old batteries visually inspected the board it looked good. Replaced the old batteries with new ones and turned it on it seemed to be working then gradually white smoke from R44 on the board. I replaced the resistor with an identical one I had and the same thing happened.

    I can replace the resistor again. I have a bunch of them but there must be a reason for this that I need to fix and address first. Problem is I have no idea.

    Thank you so much for any help you can offer.

    I replaced the resistor again. It seems to be OK now.

    Now how to make it better?

        try check a circuit and details :: 'mechanical transducer' -- D7 --- Q5
        if Q5 is unbroken then may be why it is in open state - you need fix this.

          This is what I did and should have done right away. I repaired the dried and cracking insulation on the wires or cable to the loop/coil and repaired the headphone/clapper wire as well. It seems to be OK now. I have not extensively tested it outside. Was that my problem or is it it still open?
