    Hi,

I have been reading back over a lot of your posts particularly the admittedly older posts about the Minelab Musketeer Colt that you modded back in the day to add an external GB and Pinpoint toggle switch.

I too have a colt and i am planning to do this mod - I have managed to source a stacked b10k pot with switch for the GB.

My question is what sort of toggle do i need for the pinpoint reset - I am pretty new to all this so sorry if it is a stupid question but i am guessing its a SP3T (on-on-momentary)?

Also I'm not immediately concerned about not having a pinpoint function (but would like to add it in later) i assume that without installing a toggle the musketeer is already in 'adjust ground balance' mode. this way i could just add the ground balance now and add the pinpoint later.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Wouldhamkent,
believe me or not; but it's been a while since i did that and i completely forgot all the tiny details about many of the things i done in the past.
Luckily; your question is not tough and even more luckily; i am keeping most of "documentation" i generated than, in process of working.
Instead wasting many more words here i am posting now only scan of front panel pcb.
You can clearly see what kind of components are used there.
If anything not clear; don't hesitate to ask!
    Cheers
    !

It is 6-pin with 3 positions.
Yet; upper position is acting as button, when released it returns to middle position.
There must be proper designation name for that kind of switch but i can't recall it now.
If you can not obtain it than be free to use ordinary double (6 pin), 3 position switch instead.
Than you will switch it in Threshold Reset position and switch it back manually, not a big deal
          !

              Hi Ivconic,

Thanks for the reply. from looking at your pics the switch appears to only have 3 pins? its the one directly next to the speaker. should i still get a dpdt 3 position switch as you suggest but wire it slightly differently?

thanks again for the help so far - you are all such clever sods on here

              Cheers,

                  Ah yes, you are right!
As i told; i completely forgot all the details.
All you need is simple 3 pin, 2 position switch.
                  The ordinary one.
