help for more surf1.2 kit silverdog

Hello to all
I need help to be able to run the surf in a kit that I bought last week from silverdog
I have the problem that does not work ... well it works I detect an abnormally small magnets and steel screws also a few cm in length and 6-7 cm distance to a large iron masses of 45 cm -
I do not detect aluminum calipers - reel tin- any kind of gold coin , much less even passing very close to the coil
The tip of the tool that has a small magnet to detect the 35 - maybe 40 cm as well as a pair of scissors in steel
Now I add that my knowledge of electronics is very basic and as for the md even less
The kit was missing the capacitor C16 = 100nF [ Polyester film (+ / -10%) ]
I purchased separately and they gave me this (which I do not think polyester )

also acting on the controller delay do not feel any change in sensitivity ' of the coil - only thing noticeable and turning the screw sometimes feel the peaks - and the other thing ' this is always a slight hum
