  • Surf PI no response

I have built a surf PI from silverdog (great kit and easy to assemble)

I was able to apply power and see the +/- 5V and also able to adjust offset to 0V...

the issue Im having is that I cannot get a response from any further than 3-4mm of any type or size of metal.

    coil specs:
    10.5" diameter
    270uH w/ resistance of 5ohms
    30AWG copper wire 17 turns
18ga 15" twisted pair wire connecting coil to board

not sure where to go from here...

    any help?

I too have problems but that 's right ...

the coil must have 1.5 to 2.5 ohms
a 35 rounds of 0.45 mm with a resistance of 2, 4 ohms and inductance of 689 uH

im not sure bout the # of turns and other specs you have there, as Ive seen memebers with coils that have around 350uH and have 20 turns of .022 wire.

I did hear from silvedog that they think it might be my coil and reccomended using 24 awg with 21 turns at 10.5" diameter... so thats what Im going to try.

      Ill keep you updated
