Maybe it's not exactly a crap .... but quite a trivial things , well-known in the communication theory

Reading through the claims listed on the last two pages, it is seems that this is all about syncing the communication/ reading of signals with the transmit period so as to try and send/ or process during the quiet periods. Don't other many commercial metal detectors already do this ? Or I am getting this all wrong ? Come on, where are the gurus ?

Yes it's a crap, simply because author hasn't offered nothing new apart from what we already knew in common knowledge.
Deus is the very first using wireless connection between coil and command unit, but it is not "the revelation" considering use of BT technology.
I can't exactly name each of the products, but so far (and much more before Deus appeared ) i saw numerous other tech devices and appliances using similar or same wireless connection, protocols etc.
About patent... well, i can't say nothing more profound, simply because i don't understand the point of that patent itself.
Lot of terms and claims there ... but content is completely TRIVIAL.
I guess the only reason for writing that patent was to provide certain security and prevention against possible or eventual lawsuits in future.
And why such prevention? Most probably because new BT based Minelab model is already "baking
          ".

It reads as though they realise they have been caught snoozing by xp. Its a scattergun attempt to claim anything remaining.

I've only had time to skim it, but it appears to me as if it focuses on optimal times for sending data. In prior patent cases, things you can easily figure out through trial-and-error usually got tossed out, so unless there is something more to the patent it doesn't look all that durable at first glance.

You need to read their annual report to see just how poorly they're doing.
