Please Help - Seek Info on Metal Detectors

Hello Experts / Gurus,

I will be grateful if you help me with below query.

I want to build a metal detector which will be more accurate in detecting Gold / Silver than that of Iron. Which should have good depth.


There are so many projects posted in Geotech and discussed in the Forum which made me confused.

Can you please direct me to a correct / tested project which will fulfill my above requirement?

in this froum have very gurus but i dont know why answer correctly
this is my idea and thinking and teaching about the detector that i learn here :
Detector have Discrimination or havent
Discrimination(reject ferrous) have two coils RX and TX coil but some of like PS G have a one coil.
for big depth you can use DP2 or 2Box(near 5meter ) and other pi that can improve this coil to 1m*1m like barracuda.
Just you should know no detector can find 1coin in 5meter so if the metal more big that grow up detecting.
DP2 and 2box dont discrimination. But in Iran i hear one people sayed have a detector can search in soil to 18meter!!!!(laptop and anttena , and i dont see it )
so maybe have a detector have a good depth and discrimination and some Gurus here know BUT DONT SAY TO ALL .

ok, i like you search about the detector can reject ferrous and nonferrous , and i in begin make ps g(pulse star GB ) and finish it but it is unstable ( it is work very bad for me , and should you design this pcb for yourself )
second i ask some gurus and they say to me make IDX PRO VDI , i make it and work well , whatever i can not adjust it well to reject ferrous.but in coil more hard to make and you can make CC coil or DD coil , so i prefer DD coil ( easier than CC )and i make VDI and again can not set it ( all guru help me but i cannot set it and it is my problem maybe my language is bigger than of adjust, and very guru make it and work )
IGSL too i think can discrimination , and i dont make it yet
so first look in your city exist all part of your detector , for example i make barracuda ( have not discrimination ) and not work well because i replace all transistor by equivalent .
then see have pcb ( gurus here design , it is more help for you )
next you can start it.
about depth my friend it is big problem for all detector have discrimination , if you use bigger coil than have lower discrimination .and depth have directly LIAISON to size of your thing that you detection.
so i want make DP2 ( for big depth and maybe make GS4 too ) and now have IDX to work together .so if you have not any things about elec you should make first easier detector even have not discrimination , like barracuda , surf pi and... ( just have component in your city or country )
