    Apologies if covered already.

    I wanted to do some A to D work - and it can be frustrating with the choice and implementation.

    These LINDUINO could be good as they give sample code and some HW dev kit at sensible cash.

    LTC1867 looks like a big deal: 16 bit 200 ksps for the price $15-18 on digikey. (not for insane $40 on ebay)

    In many hobbyists detectors you can see MCP3201 or ADS7816. Sure they are weaker and cheaper but if they using it then probably it is easy to implement.

    Anyway it is very interesting to hear if anybody can recommend good ADCs for MD projects.

      I see this chip being used in a metal detector. 24 bit serial interface. A quick search shows $3 - $4 dollars at mouser...
