  • I'm physically disabled. I need my Mk-1 converted to a "s" handle-does anyone here do this?

I asked Keith Wills at East Texas Metal Detectors, and he does not have the time. I have one arm and cannot do the things involved.
I've seen photos of these conversions, and Keith said it must be somebody from Geotech [I've asked at findmall and had no reply.]
I know its an older detector, but Keith does a depth mod that adds 3-4" so its back leading the pack. I have the meter housing from
the Whites 5900/6000 series already, and a handle-just need someone to do it.

    Hi Witchking

do you speak about XP Mk-1 metal detector?

It has "S" shaped shaft already. What is exact your idea?

      Teknetics Mk-1.
I've seen photos of the original handle removed, and a new style arm cup handle fixed onto the box in the middle between the pots. A Whites meter housing is used to raise up the meter where you could see it. I'd like to get the battery conversion done, but Keith won't do it-right now all the battery clips are broken out, so its not working.

        Probably you mean this solution:

        Or like this:

        Another one example:

A lot of handcraft work. Do you mead that Mk 1 worth such effort and additional costs?

              At what cost?
A guy I talked to that did one said it was fairly simple to do-but he didn't have the time.

Maybe. You need at least one broken Whites like 5900 Di PRO SL, - something about $100.

And "fairy simple" and "didn't have the time" is a little in contradiction, don't you?

Fine. I am a lot away from you to go in this adaptation with reasonable costs, but hope on some kind colleague near you to take Santa role and help you.
