  • My Surf PI Died today. HCF4093BE not switching

I got out my surf pi silverdog longboard today, and as was having a look on the scope the output stopped.I checked it and found the 4093 was not switching.I have it socketed so I pulled it and checked all the pins, they are as they should be.Still getting the signal from the main clock but no outputs, huh. Anybody have one of these to fail on you? Is any one of the many variations of this IC better than the others? I'll order up a few if so.

I have had problems with these chips, a new one has fixed it each time.

Once I was suspecting 4093 but error has been fixed after cleaning PCB /as I remember 4093 has been replaced too, so who knows/, also corrosion or bad contact in delay pot makes problems from time to time.

I will check out ebay and see what is for sale,my IC was ST brand. Maybe I can find some Motorola brand. I dont know if one manufacturer has better products than another really.
