I'm in the process of making a Box for it and finishing it off.
Yesterday I ordered 150 pieces of a 1/4 x 1 1/4 inch Ferrite Rods.
(Not Specifically for this project, But I need them for other things also.)
I have Numerous Smaller Gold Nuggets: 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1 and 1.3 Gram.
I want to get a Few Smaller ones also for Testing Purposes.
Possibly get those today, from a guy in town here.
After I get this Completed, I probably will do a Video.
Voltage at the cap should be about 0.6 Volts with NO Metal Present.
As Metal Approaches the Coil, This Voltage goes LOWER.
With No Metal Present, Voltage at Collector of the 2N5088 is about 4 Volts.
As Metal Approaches coil,This voltage RISES, possibly up to about 7 volts.
Depends on Actual Battery Voltage.
If you PM or Email me your Number, I can call you.
Re: Time Difference, Are you East Coast or West Coast?
Hi Gary,
tThe output of the regulator is 5.23V the voltage on the collector of the 2N5088 is 8.87 volts I will go and change the Led and the Piezo over now as for the time here local time is 1/2 hour behind the eastcoast as I am on the south coast check your email I will send something to you.
Just for your info also, We are planning a Holiday Trip to Australia and New Zealand for Oct. & Nov. of this year.
(In Australia, driving all of the East Coast and Some of the South Coast.)
Yes, this is my new way of expressing sensitivity.
I saw that coins of different states, or "chains", drinks cans, and so on, are not a good indicator of fine sensitivity, because it can not be compared due to the specific characteristics and design.
Therefore, I would like to accepted some basic materials and measures, that every man, wherever he is on Earth, may acquire and execute measurements for comparison with other detector.
I asked Nupi before that information, and its table is in the forum.

It does not work out for me to do a Video
And I do Not have any Chocolate bar Foil.
Besides they can Vary Considerably in Thickness.
But here are Some Pictures and Test Results.
EDIT NOTE: I Accidently Reversed the Distances on the 1/8 and 1/2 Gram Nuggets.
So SWAP THEM.
A Canadian Penny at 55mm
A US Quarted at 60mm
Bottom of a 454 Gram Steel Propane Bottle at 90mm

I Found the one showing COINS.
But I DON'T see any Info on Detection of those 1mm, 2mm and 3mm, 0.40 Copper Wires.
Not on that Foil either.
